Heigh-Ho, The Holly 8th December 6pm Letheringham
Dear Friends,
The festive season brings with it both joy and nostalgia, what better way to celebrate than with a journey back to Tudor and Medieval England through music and words? “Heigh-Ho, The Holly!” invites you to experience the mirth and merriment as it was during this enchanting historical period.
This delightful event will be held on Sunday, 8th December at 6pm in the beautiful and historic setting of The Prior Church of St Mary, Letheringham. To get everyone into the festive spirit, a complimentary glass of mulled wine and a mince pie will be served between 6 and 6.30pm before the start of the concert. Many of today’s seasonal carols have their origins in the Medieval and Tudor eras and so, whilst the ancient instruments Hexachordia play may be unfamiliar, many of the tunes will be known to everyone. This concert will appeal both to those new to early music, as well as to audiences with a well-established love of this beautiful, timeless music.
Not only will you be swept away by the beautiful music performed by Hexachordia, (http://hexachordia.com) but you’ll also be contributing to a very worthy cause.
