Good afternoon,
We are writing to seek your views on a proposal to renew six Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) in East Suffolk.
The six PSPOs can be found by clicking on the links below:
· Dogs on leads Charsfield recreation ground
· Dogs on leads Martello Park Felixstowe
· Dogs on leads Town Hall Gardens Felixstowe
· Dogs on leads Felixstowe Seafront Gardens
· Exclusion of dogs Langer Park Felixstowe
· Exclusion of dogs Thorpeness Beach
In summary:
- a PSPO lasts for three years
- the six PSPOs listed above were made in 2022 and are due to expire in June 2025
· all the existing PSPOs, may be viewed at www.eastsuffolk.gov.uk/dog-control-public-spaces-protection-orders
- the boundaries of the areas to which these PSPOs apply are provided in the existing documents available through the above link.
The Controls covering Charsfield Church Yard are now duplicated in the Dogs on Leads General PSPO, and therefore we intend to discontinue the Charsfield Church Yard PSPO in June 2025.
In addition it is proposed to consolidate all the dog related PSPOs together in June 2025, so that they are all renewed and/or expire at the same time in June 2028.
If you wish to comment on these proposals, please do so by completing the survey following this link: https://eastsuffolk.co/pspo
The consultation will close on 1 February 2025.
For questions about the consultation, please email environmental.protection@eastsuffolk.gov.uk
We may not be able to reply directly to every consultation response, but please be assured all comments received will be considered prior to making a decision on renewal of each of these PSPOs.
Thank you for your time.
