Introducing Charsfield Parish Council
Hello Charsfield! As several changes have recently been made to the Parish Council team, we would like to introduce ourselves.
But first a bit of background. Charsfield Parish Council are the first tier of local government. We have up to 7 councillors who are elected every 4 years. Working closely with yourselves, the Councillors work to support and improve Charsfield. You are always welcome to attend our Parish Council Meetings.
This is what we are currently looking at;
- Revision and testing of the village emergency plan (flood, total power loss, etc.).
- Speeding in Charsfield, especially on the B1078 in the village 30mph sections (working with Police, etc.).
- Further developing Charsfield’s local history. Planning for preservation and a digital archive of the many local historical documents about Charsfield.
- Going digital: move Charsfield to a .gov domain in line with Gov requirements, to make all this easier to access for everyone.
- Working with the Village Hall and Recreation Ground teams for the longer-term village benefit.
- Looking at better community services. e.g. Re-introducing a bus service for the village.
- Encouraging new groups and interests in the village for the growing number of people and families living here.
- Developing awareness of local farming, nature and the environment.
Below gives a quick overview of who we are.
