Charsfield Recreation Ground is seeking a new Tennis Coordinator to support the smooth running of the village tennis courts. This voluntary, unpaid role is ideal for anyone who enjoys community involvement and wants to gain practical organisational and trustee experience. The role ensures the continuity of a long-standing part of village life and supports essential income for maintaining the courts.
Below is a description of the role.
Purpose of the Role
To manage the administration, communication and basic oversight of the Charsfield Recreation Ground tennis permit system and court use.
Key Responsibilities
- Permit Administration
- Respond to enquiries (mostly automated via the website).
- Issue permits, payment instructions, booking details and padlock codes.
- Maintain up-to-date records of permit holders.
- Booking Management
- Oversee the WhatsApp Booking Group.
- Provide guidance to users where needed.
- Communication
- Send occasional updates, including annual renewal reminders and key information for the season.
- Court Oversight
- Check the condition of the tennis and MUGA courts regularly and flag any issues.
Optional / Shared Responsibilities
- Support court maintenance arrangements (cleaning, repainting, minor repairs).
- Represent tennis interests on the Charsfield Recreation Ground Committee.
- Serve as a Trustee of the Committee.
