Would you like to help protect Charsfield Three Horseshoes Pub?

Hello Charsfield

We are The Charsfield Three Horseshoes Community Pub Limited, people from Charsfield and beyond wanting to stop the Charsfield Three Horseshoes from going the way of many Suffolk village pubs: being lost forever and turned into housing. We want to help get the pub restored and re-opened as a pub. For more information about us and some of the history of all that, have a look here.

Anyway, the good news is that the Charsfield Three Horseshoes is formally on the market again – see here. The less good news is that it is being described as a “former public house” and with a price which we think reflects an attempt to sell it as a development opportunity (with the carefully worded “subject to planning permission” warning). Anyway, it would obviously be great if someone were to buy it to re-open as a pub, and we have made clear that we would support them in doing that. The worry though is that someone buys it in the hope of getting permission to change it away from being a pub. So, we need to ever vigilant, and the need for our organisation is perhaps greater than it has ever been over the last few years.

Many thanks meanwhile to everyone who came along for the meeting and social in the Village Hall on 5 December. As you will have heard we have opened up for applications for membership up to 30 January 2026 (having not been open for new members for a while). On Friday 30 January 2026 we will be holding a meeting for members only in the village hall at 6.30pm.
