Update on the Deben Solar farm planning application for Letheringham

You will recall that on 18th February 2025 a proposal was submitted, on behalf of Quintas Cleantech, to East Suffolk Council for a very large Solar Farm across two sites in Easton and Letheringham (DC/25/2733/FUL). There were 454 objections and Quintas Cleantech were ask to resubmit their planning application and address the concerns raised.

East Suffolk Council is expecting Quintas Cleantech’s response to the application imminently. The 27 February was set back in October to allow the applicant time to address the level of response to the first consultation.

East Suffolk Council will need to determine an appropriate extension to account for a subsequent consultation, but this will be dependent on the extent of revisions to the scheme.

An indication will then be given as to how long the extension will be. We will be re-consulted once the information has been received.
