Your new bin – Better Recycling in 2026

Hi all, you may have already received your new wheelie bin and food waste caddies. If not, they are about to arrive soon.

The new service starts in June, so please wait until then to start using them. Please continue to recycle as you currently do until then.

In May you will be sent a detailed information pack and collection calendar.

In the meantime, here is an early view as to what each bin will be used for.

Blue Lidded Recyling Bin – glass, drinks cartons (Tetra Pak), plastic wrapping and containers, tin foil, metal cans and aerosols

Green Lidded Recycling Bin (new bin) – shredded paper, cardboard, paper, books

Food Waste Caddy (new bin) – food left overs. The larger caddy is for outside and the smaller caddy to be used in the house. Whilst you don’t have to, it makes it easier to line the smaller caddy and transfer the food to the larger outside caddy.

General Rubbish Bin – anything that can’t be recycled as above
