Update on Deben Solar Farm – Environmental Impact Assessment

We have just received some important information on Deben Solar Farm and a decision just made by East Suffolk Council Planning.

As a result of ‘Stop Deben Solar’ raising a legal objection, East Suffolk Council Planning has concluded that the impacts of the proposed development would constitute Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) development and therefore an Environmental Statement is required.

An Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) will ensure the local planning authority are aware of the potential environmental effects of the development. However, the local planning authority remains the final decision-making power and will consider the application as a whole, including the environmental impact, when evaluating the planning application.
