In 1847, Edward Dunthorne, amateur antiquarian and grocer of Dennington, presented this volume to the Minister of the time, Revd William Bransby. It contained the results of his researches into the history of the village (note: Caresfelda was one of the names for Charsfield in the Domesday Book).
